1891 Historic Cabin

Originally built in 1891 as a hunting cabin and expanded several times over the decades, this home had reached a point where age, moisture, and years of rodent damage left it on the brink of demolition. Significant structural issues were present, including deteriorating foundation sections and framing compromised by humidity from an unventilated dirt basement. The project ultimately became a full restoration. The house was lifted so the foundation could be repaired, sections of framing were rebuilt, and the structure was fully insulated and resided with new windows installed throughout. All major mechanical systems were replaced, including plumbing, electrical, furnace, and water heater, along with the addition of ductless heating and cooling. Interior spaces were completely refreshed with fully renovated bathrooms and extensive drywall replacement, bringing new life to a property that might otherwise have been lost.
